Around to It is the story of a person dealing with loss, regret, and jealousy. Having been the deceased’s primary caregiver, her roommate has to deal with things left unsaid while working through a list of calls she wanted made after the end. It is written and directed by Michael W. Dodge.

February 2023 – Location lost and new location found
Mike had found a location on a website that caters to production shoots. Unfortunately, between the time he acquired it and February the tenant had decided to move out. Fortunately, we knew someone that was going to Vegas for a week which is the right amount of time for us to film. It was a nice trade pet sitting for a location. Crisis averted!
March 4, 2023 – Cinematographer and Hair & Makeup positions hired
March 12, 2023 – Actor callbacks at Hillsboro Library
March 13, 2023 – After writing the film, producing the film Mike will direct the film and today he received his first lesson in editing the film. He cut down the audition call back footage. Now the really hard part, choosing the actor. They didn’t make it easy on us, they were all very good.
Shout out to the Brookwood Library for letting us host our callbacks in conference room B. And big thanks to our PA, Hannah T. for helping us with callbacks and for the rest of the production.
March 15, 2023 – Cast Laura Welsh as Amanda
Laura Welsh was a stand out during auditions. Mike felt that she understood the part of Amanda. She was able to tap into the emotion perfectly. We are super excited to work with Laura and see her bring this story to life. Welcome aboard Laura.

May 21 – 23, 2023 – Principal Photography
November 19, 2023 – Post-production completed
December 9, 2023 – Held cast viewing party
December 16, 2023 – Started submitting to festivals
January 14, 2024 – We have a poster and we have entered festivals!!!
February 23, 2024 – Mike has been selected to participate in the Centre for Media and Celebrity Studies panel. It is a Portuguese based film festival. Additionally, they will be screening his film and another film. Afterwards, both filmmakers will then participate in a Q & A. The panel can be seen on YouTube.
