Killdeer tells the story of a woman who uses her internal strength, not physical strength, to protect her granddaughter. Giselle is a grandmother who lives with her abusive husband and is visited by her granddaughter. Recognizing that her husband also poses a danger to her granddaughter, she relies on her intellect and her toughness rather than direct confrontation to protect her granddaughter. She shows the power of a grandmother’s love and that strength and resilience can come in small packages.
