Principal Photography Completed on The Last Artist

A week ago Sunday we shot The Last Artist. Thanks to Dustin Morrow, we got access to a cool space with black floor, walls, and ceilings that we could put in complete darkness. Thanks to Lee Gochenour, we had some lights that could mimic a campfire. (No indoor combustion!) Add some props and actors and, voila, you can film.

Like many other indie film shoots, everyone wears multiple hats. Even the director got to be a grip for a bit. (He dresses like one anyway…) Eventually, we got all the gear and props in the space and started shooting. We always work hard to make our day and in this case we even wrapped a wee bit early.

Both Samantha Marie Cook and Tom Walton gave excellent performances. Their professionalism made the shoot go smoothly. I’m really excited to get into editing and see how the different performances they gave appear on the screen.
