Network

Network is the Sidney Lumet film about a television network that exploits the mental breakdown of the news anchor, portrayed by Peter Finch. It is a problematic and highlights some of the disfunction that we see today. The film stars Faye Dunaway and William Holden. The film is said to be a satirical drama produced by MGM. It is about a fourth television network that is struggling to keep up with the ratings of the strong three; CBS, NBC and ABC. It won 20 awards and received 27 nominations. Peter Finch, Faye Dunaway and Beatrice Straight won an Academy Award that year. And to this day Beatrice Straight is the only actress to receive an award after only being onscreen for less than 5 minutes.
